Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to all services provided by Lauren Paré, RN, IBCLC, including in-home lactation consultations, electronic communications, guidance, and any related educational materials. By using or accessing these services, you (“Client”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

Effective Date: September 11, 2025

Description of Services.

I provide lactation support to families related to breastfeeding, pumping, and infant feeding. My services may include in-home consultations, observation of feeding, guidance on techniques, and recommendations for equipment or routines. All services are intended to educate and support families and are not a substitute for medical care. As an RN, it is outside of my scope to diagnose, prescribe, or provide treatment. Clients should consult their primary healthcare provider for any medical concerns or questions regarding medications. Within Ollio Lactation, I practice independently and am not a representative of Alberta Health Services.

Client Consent and Responsibilities.

By engaging my services, you consent to observation and assessment of yourself and your baby or babies, guidance on feeding or pumping techniques, and use of any recommended equipment during consultations. While I aim to help you reach your feeding goals, no specific outcomes are guaranteed.

You are responsible for providing complete and accurate information, maintaining a safe environment during in-home visits, disclosing who will be present, and securing pets. If the environment is unsafe, I may end the consultation, and the full fee will still apply.

Payment Terms.

Fees for services are due at the time of the consultation via e-transfer. An electronic receipt and care plan will be provided within 24 hours. I do not bill insurance directly, but receipts can be submitted by clients to their insurance providers if needed. Late or unpaid fees may incur additional charges.

Cancellations and Rescheduling.

Appointments should be canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full consultation fee, payable within 48 hours. Exceptions may be made in cases of illness or emergencies.

If more than four weeks have passed since your last consultation, any future bookings will be treated as initial consultations, as updated assessment and guidance may be required.

Limitation of Liability.

My services are intended for education and support only. I cannot diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medications. You remain responsible for consulting your primary healthcare provider as needed. I am not liable for outcomes related to your decisions or actions following consultations or recommendations.

Termination of Services.

I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services if a client behaves in a threatening, unsafe, or abusive manner, fails to follow safety guidance, or if the environment is unsafe. In such cases, the full consultation fee remains payable.

Intellectual Property.

All care plans, educational materials, and guidance I provide are for personal use only. Reproduction, sharing, or commercial use without my permission is prohibited.

Governing Law.

These Terms are governed by and interpreted according to the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.

Changes to Terms.

I may revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of my services constitutes acceptance of any updates.

Acknowledgment.

By booking or attending a consultation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
